Orion Township Man Creates Nonprofit

After Oakview Middle School teacher Kathy Luby, 40, passed away from breast cancer, her husband and friends founded a nonprofit organization, in her memory.

Don Luby of Orion Township said his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 when she was in her last trimester with their fifth child.

A Dream Made Reality
A Mother's Wish, a local foundation inspired by the late Kathy Luby, has been made a reality by many of her close friends. The foundation's first annual 5K run/walk and 10K run to benefit local families affected by breast cancer takes place on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, 9 a.m.,
