Embracing Families Affected by Breast Cancer
Before her death in 2008, Kathy Luby initiated the idea for a foundation which served the needs of families struggling with the day-to-day impact of breast cancer. With many charities and organizations funding the search for a cure, far fewer are addressing the emotional and physical "journey" families endure as a result of a breast cancer diagnosis.
As a legacy to Kathy, A Mother's Wish foundation was created by her close friends to ease the burden of this "journey" for local families. When life's road-blocks, financial or otherwise, get in the way of a loved one's healing, A Mother's Wish will be there to help.
Our vision is to be the charity Oakland County families turn to when the financial and emotional burden of a breast cancer diagnosis impedes their ability to focus on healing; assuring them that there are people in their surrounding community concerned about their well-being and willing to help any way possible.
